Michael Tumback has held several senior financial and operational positions in the accounting, oil and gas construction services and general contracting industries.

Michael began his career as and articling student in 1980 and remained in the public accounting sector, primarily with Arthur Andersen, until 1989. He left public accounting to assume a regional financial management position with Lafarge Construction Materials until 1992 when he joined Flint Engineering and Construction Ltd. as the Vice President, Finance. He remained in that role until 1999, where he served as the Canadian Chief Financial Officer and assisted in the development of the international operations in Russia. With the acquisition of Flint by SCF Partners in 1999, Michael moved into the general contracting sector in the role of Vice President of Finance at CANA Construction Co. Ltd. His operational focus resulted in a promotion to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2003.

Michael joined the Board of Directors of Strike Group in 2006 and also serves as the Secretary Treasurer for the Board of Trustees of the Calgary Zoo. He has served on the Board of Directors for Merit Contractors Association, including roles as Chair of the Benefit Committee and a term as Chairman of the Association in 2003-2004.

Michael graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1980 and obtained his designation as a Chartered Accountant in 1983.

Michael joined Strike on July 1, 2007 as the Vice President Finance and Corporate Services.
